Reopening Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church
The question has been asked, "When will we reopen Good Shepherd for worship and ministry?" First, let me tell you that Presbyterians operate in a different way. The session is a council elected by the members of the congregation. The session makes the final decision if and when we will reopen the church building. Before we reopen, we will develop a written policy on “Reopening a Safe Space” for worship & ministry. We will also be following the suggestions of CDC, the Mayor of Chicago, the Governor of Illinois, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
We will begin by having a planning meeting with session, members, and friends of the congregation in the month of June and finalize the written policy by the end of June 2020.
At this point, we will continue to have Live Stream Worship, Bible Study, and other meetings will be through Zoom. Meetings that involve less than 10 individuals will be face to face.
Sincerely,
Pastor Julio C. Peña

Worship with us Sundays 10:30 A.M.
Good Shepherd is a mission-oriented church. In gratitude to God, we seek to be useful in the world, fostering love, justice and peace.
What to expect
Good Shepherd Church is a hospitable place. This is an environment where you can be just you. Dress is casual. Come as you are. There is plenty of parking. We’re fully accessible.
We’ll provide you with a bulletin which makes it easy to follow the service. In worship, it’s OK to laugh, applaud, do playful things, and still be drawn to higher levels of thought and faith. We’re trying to make a positive difference in the world. And we invite you to join us some Sunday morning. We’re one mile due west of Midway Airport. |
